15 Signs You Are an INFJ - The Rarest Personality Type
The acronym INFJ stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging. This personality type is considered one of the rarest among the 16 Myers-Briggs (MBTI) personality types, comprising only around 2% of the world's population.
People with this personality type have very unique characteristics that set them apart. They may seem mysterious and have high emotional intelligence. Sometimes they are called 'advisors' or 'advocates'. Although we might think we know a lot about this personality type, there are often many misunderstandings.
First, on a different wavelength. INFJs often feel like outsiders as most others are on a different wavelength. Their primary function is intuition, and they subconsciously notice patterns in almost everything. These patterns are mostly related to human nature as their secondary function is feeling. This feeling draws them close to others. Intuition is the ability to understand something subconsciously without knowing how or why. Since intuition works in the subconscious, it can be described as a kind of 'inspiration' or 'psychic ability'. However, INFJs often find it hard to explain this 'sixth sense' to others, leading to feelings of isolation or being misunderstood.
Second, striving for perfection. INFJs often procrastinate as they are afraid of failure. They pursue perfection and strive to go beyond the normal capabilities of ordinary people. This means they procrastinate a lot - as they subconsciously need absolute perfection in almost everything. Although in reality, they can do all these things they fear without so much effort. That said, INFJs find it hard to handle criticism as it stands out strongly in their minds - sometimes overshadowing the positive feedback they receive. As they become more mature, they find it easier to let go of this pursuit of perfection. They may allow themselves to make more mistakes or focus on their confidence to achieve outstanding results related to their life goals.
Third, valuing beauty and quality. Beauty and quality are things INFJs strive to find in almost everything. They simply love being surrounded by elegance and beauty. They especially like high-quality things like delicious food, beautiful clothes, and anything of superb craftsmanship. Although their focus on exquisite items goes against their spiritual nature, beauty is a very inspiring and calming force for them. That said, INFJs are usually minimalists. They would rather have a few good things than a bunch of mediocre ones.
Fourth, exuding warmth and charm. Most of us don't often sit next to strangers and tell them our biggest fears, dreams, and personal secrets... but INFJs are so charming that it's not uncommon for strangers to share such information with them! People with this personality type usually have an aura that makes others feel very comfortable and at ease when they are around. Almost everyone likes being with them. They are very good at making people feel at ease. They are not only reassuring, trustworthy, and charming, but also good listeners who speak understandably and meet others according to their situations.
