MBTI Personality Handbook - No More Pretending to Fit In!
Have you ever struggled to understand the people around you? Especially when it comes to different MBTI personalities? As a person who has been on this journey of discovery, I want to share my insights.
I am a J-type person, and dealing with my P-type child can be quite a challenge. The sight of my child's messy desk drives me crazy. Just a day ago, I tidied it up because I couldn't stand it anymore. Then, I found a book called 'MBTI: Potential Development and Human Strategy.' This book has provided me with a way to find peace.
What are J people like? They make plans in advance and handle and organize things according to the plan. They have a strong desire to summarize and complete tasks. Most importantly, they want to finish what they start. On the other hand, P people are just the opposite. They stay open and collect more information. They are very willing to accept new impressions and love to explore. They don't like making plans.
Now think about it. I keep reminding my child to make plans and complete tasks before the deadline. But what happens? Even if a plan is made, it's often forgotten. My partner is also a J-type, so the two of us are completely frustrated when faced with our child's lack of planning and not checking the plan.
However, this book tells us that for a P-type child, we can find a better way to understand them. Don't be in a hurry. Remind yourself more often that this is your own child. Good things take time. P people need more possibilities. Try giving them the right to choose. Calmly remind them of the importance of punctuality and order.
Of course, this book also gives me more inspiration on how an INTJ can better get along with others. Do some emotional training. Pay attention to your own and others' feelings and give more space to emotions. Take time for yourself and let the people around you know this. Keep an open mind, be more flexible, and adjust your focus from narrow to wide. Improving oneself is important, but also understand others. Slow down and control your 'contempt for stupidity.'
The reason we are always exploring relationships between people is that self-awareness is extremely important. It allows us to know who we are and who we are not. Respect the differences between each other to establish long-term and stable interpersonal relationships. Only by not being trapped in our own world can we discover that the world is actually very beautiful!
