The Stages of INFJ Personality
An analysis of the low, middle, and high levels of INFJ personality.
The INFJ Personality: Low, Middle, and High Levels
The INFJ personality is one of the 16 MBTI types. Known as the counselor in the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, it belongs to one of the four types of idealists. INFJs have strong empathy and can sense others' feelings even before they are consciously aware. They often prefer solitude and may seem out of place among others. They are full of thoughts, have a strong focus, and can be quite suspicious.
Low-level INFJ: Ni+Fe At this stage, they have some self-awareness and realize they are different from others but can't quite pinpoint how. They have分化出 Ni and Fe functions. In Ni, they have their own hobbies and pursuits, enjoying their own little world. In Fe, they are gentle, compliant, and if an adult, a rule-abiding employee. They have a perfect fantasy about themselves, believing they are unique and may have some control over others but without much hostility.
Middle-level INFJ: Developing Ti As Ni and Fe continue to develop, INFJ enters a new stage of exploration. They start to develop Ti and experience 'the pain of wisdom'. They enjoy the benefits of Ti initially, with broader vision, stronger curiosity, better debating skills, and deeper thinking. They become argumentative but not extreme, as they realize they are not omniscient with the help of Ni and Ti. They start to explore inwardly and think about their future. They struggle between ideal and reality, often feeling pain. When there's no reconciliation, they may become avoidant in relationships and turn to philosophy and psychology. They become more disciplined but need to beware of Se's rebound. They are pessimistic and may face setbacks.
High-level INFJ: Developing Se INFJ realizes they can't find themselves in Ni, Fe, or Ti. These functions make them doubt themselves. They have to develop Se as it's the only way to self-salvation. Only when the first three functions are perfected can they develop Se. Developing Se makes them interested in the world, less anxious, and more open to sensory experiences. They are no longer avoidant in relationships and become more carefree.
