The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality theory model jointly developed by American writer Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother Katherine Cook Briggs. Based on the eight psychological types divided by Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, MBTI puts the psychological type theory of personality into practice. After more than twenty years of research, it was compiled. Myers further proposed concepts such as functional hierarchy on the basis of concepts such as dominant and subordinate functions of personality, effectively determining the order of functional hierarchy for each type and proposing the lifelong development theory of types, forming four dimensions. Dr. John Beebe combines psychological type theory and archetype theory systematically in 'Type and Archetype'. These four dimensions are like four rulers. Everyone's personality will fall on a certain point on the ruler. Whichever end the point is closer to means that person has a preference in that aspect. The four dimensions are: 1. Extraversion (E) vs. Introversion (I). Extraverts gain energy from the external world and enjoy socializing. Introverts get energy from within and prefer solitude or interaction with a few close people and think more deeply. 2. Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N). Sensors focus on concrete facts and practical details and rely on experience and real data for decision-making. Intuitives pay attention to the big picture, possibilities, and future potential and focus on abstract concepts and patterns. 3. Thinking (T) vs. Feeling (F). Thinkers are inclined to logical and objective analysis and focus on truth and fairness in decision-making. Feelers care more about personal values and others' emotions and value harmony and interpersonal relationships in decision-making. 4. Judging (J) vs. Perceiving (P). Judgers prefer a planned and organized lifestyle and like to arrange and control the environment. Perceivers prefer a flexible and open lifestyle and like to keep options open and be adaptable. Through the combination of these four dimensions, MBTI classifies personalities into 16 different types, each with unique characteristics and tendencies. This classification helps people better understand their own and others' behaviors and thinking styles. Tips for MBTI tests: 1. Set aside sufficient time and start answering when you are in a peaceful state of mind. 2. Each question has two answers. Read the questions carefully and choose the answer that matches your personality. 3. Note that there is no right or wrong answer. You don't need to consider which answer is better. Just choose the one that is most in line with you. 4. If you think both answers can reflect your tendency in different situations, choose the answer that is most natural and comfortable for your behavior.
