Full Environment Cultivates People | Class 8 of Grade 2022 Holds Themed Class Meeting on 'Decoding My MBTI'
In order to guide students to make scientific choices for growth and life planning, on March 25, students of Class 8 of Grade 2022 of Qingdao No. 9 Middle School held a themed class meeting on 'Decoding My MBTI'.
Brainstorming and Questionnaire Survey
Before the class meeting, under the leadership of Liu Yanzhuo, the group leader of Group 6, students designed the MBTI class theme monthly journal with an attitude of investigation and analysis. They designed questions such as: What is your MBTI? Whom do you want to live with more among people with different MBTIs? What wonderful stories will happen? What impact will MBTI compatibility have on making friends? Are there any examples like this around you? Students regarded the monthly journal as a spiritual world for dialoguing with themselves and speaking freely.
Creating Videos and Introducing Themes
The class meeting was hosted by Jing Chenyang and Li Wenqi. They introduced relevant knowledge about MBTI to everyone.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is based on the eight psychological types divided by Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. Myers further proposed concepts such as functional hierarchy on the basis of concepts such as the dominant and subordinate functions of personality's superior and inferior functions, and also proposed the lifelong development theory of types, forming four dimensions. Namely, extroversion and introversion (E and I), sensing and intuition (S and N), thinking and feeling (T and F), and judging and perceiving (J and P).
Data Revelation, Unexpected Results
Yang Yuhan revealed the question that everyone is most concerned about: Are there more extroverted people (E) or introverted people (I) in the class? The answer is E people! The class monitor who seems the most lively and generous is actually an introverted person (I), and the league branch secretary who is usually unsmiling is actually an extroverted person (E), which is quite unexpected. Students also revealed the treasure kids in our class. There is only one ISFJ, one ISTJ, and one ESFP in the whole class. The most common type in the class is INFP, followed by ENFP.
Situational Interaction, Showing True Colors
Next came the most enjoyable part: When they were attacked by strange little notes! In this part, through videos, students recorded the different reactions of students with different MBTIs after receiving strange little notes. An INTJ student received a note that said 'Let's go treasure hunting together!' and was very confused. When his extroverted classmate found out, he immediately excitedly pushed him out of the door to go treasure hunting. Similarly, an INTP student received a note that said 'Let's have a meal together' and began to mobilize his logical brain to explore the source of the note. And an ENFP student, upon seeing the same note, happily danced for joy. These small life situations vividly show personality traits.
Teacher's Speech, Elevating the Theme
At the end of the class meeting, teacher Zhang Yi also gave a summary speech. MBTI provides us with convenience to a certain extent and is a tool that allows us to better understand ourselves and others. We should use it to communicate better. At the same time, we should also be careful not to divide people into different 'boxes' and separate them from each other, deepening stereotypes. 'I hope everyone in Class 8 can use MBTI to better understand themselves, understand others, and move towards the future!'
