MBTI: Discover Your Personality Type Without Tests
In today's world, MBTI has become a popular personality typing system. Many people are eager to know their MBTI type to gain a better understanding of themselves. However, determining your MBTI type through traditional tests can be time-consuming and the results may not always be accurate due to issues with the reliability and validity of the test questions.
Fortunately, figuring out your MBTI type isn't as difficult as it seems. With a bit of self-awareness and knowledge of the MBTI classification system, you can easily determine your type.
Let's start with the first dimension: Energy Orientation.
- I (Introversion) / E (Extraversion): Imagine you're in a negative state due to work, study, or relationship issues. Which situation would make you feel more relaxed, comfortable, happy, and at ease? For introverts, staying at home quietly and engaging in solo hobbies is preferred, while extraverts find comfort in socializing with friends, chatting, going out, eating, shopping, singing karaoke, or playing games. Another simple way to distinguish is that introverts recharge when alone and deplete energy in social situations, while extraverts do the opposite.
The second dimension: Information Gathering.
- S (Sensing) / N (Intuition): S represents concreteness and sensory perception. People with a sensing preference gather information from the physical world through their senses. They focus on tangible data and details. N, on the other hand, represents abstraction and intuition. Those with an intuitive preference gather information from the mental world through their perceptions and thoughts. They are more inclined towards philosophical thinking and meditation.
The third dimension: Information Processing.
- T (Thinking) / F (Feeling): T is often associated with rationality. When thinking about problems, those with a thinking preference focus on facts and goals and may seem cold and unemotional. F is associated with emotionality. People with a feeling preference consider their own and others' emotions when thinking and may be more prone to acting on emotions.
The fourth dimension: Execution.
- J (Judging) / P (Perceiving): Recall your school days. When holidays came, did you finish your homework early according to a plan, or did you rush to complete it in the last two days? When working on a thesis or a project, do you tend to procrastinate until the deadline? Judging types prefer to get things done first and then have fun. They are organized and have the ability to stick to plans. Perceiving types are more flexible and spontaneous, enjoying the moment. For judging types, the outcome of tasks determines their mood, while for perceiving types, their mood determines the outcome of tasks.
By combining the letters from these four dimensions, you can determine your MBTI type. So, which type are you? Share your thoughts in the comments.
