Causes of Anxiety and Depression for ENTPs
Exploring the possible reasons for anxiety and depression among ENTPs based on personal experiences and observations.
What Are the Causes of Anxiety and Depression for ENTPs?
Recently, in an MBTI group, I saw an INTP mention being anxious and depressed and using meditation and traditional Chinese medicine for treatment. This led me to think about the causes of anxiety and depression for ENTPs.
Some people say that loneliness is the reason for anxiety and depression. For example, one person said that living alone for a long time led to their anxiety and depression. But is loneliness really the only cause for ENTPs?
As an ENFP, I have been living alone for a long time since leaving home. Except for living in a dormitory before 2008, I have been renting a place by myself ever since. However, I don't feel lonely. I am motivated by my ideals and the desire for financial freedom and a freelance career.
My daily routine is filled with activities. I practice singing in the morning, take care of my various nasal problems, go grocery shopping nearby, cook, and engage in activities like watching BBC documentaries or listening to TVB dramas. After lunch, I take a break and then practice playing the piano. In the evening, I repeat some of these activities and then go downstairs to practice singing while taking care of my nasal hygiene. On Sundays, I occasionally go outdoors with a friend who is an ISTJ.
Some people may think that living such a secluded life would lead to loneliness, but I don't feel that way. Even though I face many challenges, such as having severe nasal problems and coming from a difficult background with a history of being mistreated due to gender discrimination and having only a fourth-grade education, I don't feel anxious or depressed. I always find joy in life.
For others, anxiety and depression may stem from different reasons. Some may worry about small things like paying rent and bills and get caught in a cycle of anxiety. Others may feel anxious due to a lack of courage to step out of their comfort zone or because of uncertainty about the future and pressure from学业 and career.
In conclusion, the causes of anxiety and depression for ENTPs can vary from person to person. Loneliness may not be the sole factor, and there are many other possible reasons such as worry, lack of courage, and uncertainty.
